Compensation advice needed

Current Compensation: Base: 104k Bonus: 10% TC: 114000 YOE: 2.8 years FT and another 8 months as intern. Location: Boston New offer: Base: 130K Bonus: NA TC: 130k The new position is in same area ie I won't have to relocate and commute time will be reduced by 30 mins. Do you guys think its a good offer to jump ship, it turns out to be around 14 percent increase from current compensation, or I should be targeting more. Also should I be talking about getting a sign-on bonus or not all companies provide it. Other differences: New company offers upto 10% (100%) match on 401k compared to 6% on old company. New company offers unlimited vacation compared to 3 weeks in old one.

I think the offer is good you can reuqests for a joining bonus , what's important is you base salary has increased . What I always look at when changing jobs more than the salary how will the job role and organization help me in carrier path . If you feel it helps go for it Also the work culture makes a lot of difference , example is there work from home flexibility

I appreciate the quick reply, the work culture is good and wlb seems to be good, they allow telecommuting and have flexible time as well. Any pointers on how one goes about asking for sign-on bonus and how to target a particular amount.

The increase is great unless it’s gobbled up by cost of living. Is it in the same area you’re currently in?

I'm confused why you think people on Blind are in a better position to judge whether you'd be happier with the new comp. Is an increase in TC and reduction in commute time ..bad? Those are unequivocally good things. What exactly is the problem? Since we don't know the company or the type of job, in a vacuum how is it bad to take the offer?
