Design at Palantir?
What’s design like at Palantir? Or do you know of any other good options in DC?

Designing at Palantir is the most interesting and challenging work I've gotten to do in my career thus far. I get to move fast and have a lot of autonomy. There aren't currently any designers based FT in DC but there are some NY-based designers who go there frequently.

Oh yeah, designing for healthcare and manufacturing is reeeeaallll sketchy. 🙄 I'm sure you like to think you do, but as an outsider, you have no idea what Palantir actually does (and doesn't do).
Unfortunately, I don’t think you have too many good options in DC for product designers. Our designer friends/ex-coworkers in DC were/are in APT, C1, SFSF (part of SAP), Microstrategy, Appian, Angel, Alarm, some design agencies, etc. none of them are fully satisfied with the job especially pay. After a few years many (>50%) moves to Seattle or SF. We did the same moving to west coast and couldn’t be more happier career wise.
