Posting behalf of my friend who can’t post on blind: Hello Blinders, I would like to thank you 1st of all for posting so much of valuable information that I didn't know in college. I wanted to seek advice on how to get calls for software interviews. I am currently completing my Master's in Computer science and graduating in May 2019. I am worried because I am not getting much calls as I expected. I have been applying since late february. So far I have completed 120+ Leetcode questions and I am feeling depressed due to the fact that my applications are goin in vain and not getting picked/seen. I have been reaching out to recruiters/Hiring managers on LinkedIn as well. I did summer internship at a startup and I have some experience in full stack development from outside USA. I wanted to get your inputs and tips on how to get more calls. All I want is a chance to show my skills. Thank you
Have your resume looked over by the career services. They should help you polishing things up. Which university are you graduating from? GPA? Trying to understand why you're not getting calls.
I can discuss in the dm
Your school's career fair is also a good place to try.
There is no easy solution, and it's by no fault of your own. Here is my$0.02: sign up with triplebyte. They might be able to help you get your foot in the door, if you are good.
Keep applying. I had applied to almost 100 places in school.
Wow! We have been doing this but I hope it gets well. Can you please refer him at google :)
I no longer work at G. Sorry. Without referral as well, I would recommend applying to even no name companies. There is a good chance that one of them sticks. If you have a minimum requirement kind of in terms of type of company then you would have some difficulties, but not otherwise.
I know people from UT Dallas get into google, DM me I can help review
Thank you! Will do
There’s not much advice, entry level is mega saturated. Get referrals, make sure your resume is great (not just good), go to career fairs.
My friend referred me at Apple. No call, I am not even a new grad 🙁
@GreedyAlgo: I mean... you’re sounding super entitled if you’re expecting a call back on your first and only referral application. Finding a good job takes time and effort, and Apple is pretty competitive, so...
