As as software engineer with nearly 15 years in the industry I find my self either doing coding challenges for the interview ( As the interviews are very consuming ) or reading technical articles to get my job down . I feel there are much more in life that I don’t find time to read or explore and will be missing out for being in IT . Do others feel this way?
It’s good for mental health
I’m millennial. We don’t read books
I'm actually on the other side. I don't do LC unless if I'm preparing for the interviews (which again is not much). I don't remember reading tech articles (outside of my work hours) for my job, because I never enjoy them. I enjoy reading novels and mystery books and I do that almost every night.
I read a lot of fiction. Don’t really have patience for nonfiction though.
I read about 20-30 books every year. Mostly biographies, science fiction, and some self help books.
How do you make time?
How do maintain focus while reading one book and not jumping to another one in the queue or something more quick and rewarding? Respect your self-discipline.
I’ve been enjoying a lot of non fiction recently. Some are historical, some about team work, others about interesting people or events.
Do Blind comments count as tech related articles?
no it counts as hot trash
I read blind hot trash every day then. It consumes all my down time
