Downtown Seattle or Cap hill

I work at Microsoft, currently living close to campus. I've narrowed the places I want to move to those mentioned in the subject. My current lease ends in May. My question is: which one do you think is better and why? I am mostly interested in not having a crappy commute. I heard that living close to the 545 stops in downtown Seattle doesn't suck as much. I also heard that all connectors from cap hill are full and reservation is nearly impossible.

There's a 545 morning stop in Capitol Hill - Bellevue and Olive. it's a good midpoint price, lots of nightlife around, stay near there.

Thanks! I was actually looking for places around there. Do you commute from there? If so, what's your usual commute time

20 minutes on the bus, each way. Way back requires walk from Denny and Stewart, but I'm cool with it.

By downtown do you mean I'm the middle of Amazon/SLU? Denny triangle? Cascade? Belltown? Pioneer square? 2nd Ave Ext?

Close to Westlake , olive way. Pretty much walking distance to the 545 bus stops

Why is it so hard for MSFT to get more connectors for cap hill?

Microsoft cQcl87 OP Mar 12, 2018

No idea, but this is why I want to ask those that live in there, what are their thoughts on their total commute .. I've heard that you sometimes need to wait in the stop for 1 or 2 connectors to pass, then you can walk in

If cash is not a constraint, 737 Olive Way is your answer. Look no further. Bus stop at your doorstep, bitchin awesome view etc

Traffic is fine if you leave after 10am and return after 7 or 8. Capitol Hill is much better for living. I also recommend Eastlake, it’s right at the end of 520 so you can get to MSFT in 20mins by driving. And it feels really residential but it’s still fairly close to stuff.

Cap Hill is better for living if you are a frat boy who enjoys getting drunk multiple times a week. For everyone else it's not so great.

I like it much better because it’s less dense and feels more liveable
