Anyone else feel like joining a startup as an early employee is a bad decision? Assuming that 99% of startups fail, an early employee has little chance in making FU money but take on all the stresses as a founder for decreased salary and benefits.
From a pure monetary standpoint, it’s probably not worth it. From an experience standpoint, it’s definitely worth it
Bad decision, financially, unless you can't get any other job. If you're crazy or delusional enough that you think you want to start your own company one day, it helps you a lot to see the end to end process closely.
Bad decision specifically in this time. If you are having good financial cushion and passion to co tribute to the field of that startup, go ahead.
Some of us think it is a fun experience too.
Working for startup is good only when you are in undergraduate
I much prefer startups. Just important to pick the right ones...
If someone is good in that, he could be part of hedge fund and not startup.
VC is easier
yes, that is the general consensus. don’t join a startup to make money. however there are plenty of valid reasons to join an early stage startup.
If you are early in your career it is always a good decision. The learning opportunity cannot be beat.
If everyone thinks like this, then there will be only startup founders and no employees. People taking big risk and some of them did get luck and got FU money. The ones staying at more established companies usually whining on blind and working till their 60s lol.

I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
Yes, this is true. Unless you're a founder.
