So, I went through all the interviews now at Facebook and the recruiter asked me a week so they can get to a decision. Now I received an email from HireRight to complete the background check, which I already did and passed, but no offer yet. On my previous jobs they would present you the offer and at the same time have you through the bg check. Any thoughts, advice or have any of you from FB gone through the same thing? Cheers! :)
Looks like it’s good news. Background check is an expense and I’d not think anyone would like to spend money if there are no returns.
Not sure if FB is worried about money. 🤪
Background check is at the scale of $50-100 for individual. Fb might get fancy and pay 1000 it's nothing.
In background check do they validate your role and the years spent in that role etc or just the start and end dates?
Only the last role and start and end dates, I guess.
I know for a fact that they verify all roles including internships - title + start and end date. The we’re having a hard time verifying an internship I had done in France so I had to call them up several times and get them to talk to HireRight.
FB did the HireRight for me after I accepted their offer.
Nice! So there's some hope after all.
You need to get the offer first in order to consent to them doing a background check.
Apparently not, just got the offer. :D
The recruiter called me and I've got the offer. :D Anxiety is a b*tch.
Congrats!
That’s weird. My background was after. What role are you interviewing for? Is there something unique about your profile or immigration status?
Yeah! I'm interviewing for a support position. They call it Enterprise Engineering Tech. Nothing unique about my profile or immigration status, I'm native to country I'm applying in.
