I recently got an interview invite from Facebook for mobile development position. I am not new to development but anytime I have an interview offer I get this fear of failing badly. Partly because Facebook, Google and other giant companies really drill down on your concepts and other part is when you have been on a long hours full pressure job like me it's been ages I have prepped on for such interviews, pls you hardly get enough time to prepare cause you're stuck with the pressure of the current job. I have completely forgotten the major concepts of linked list, multidimensional arrays etc since it hasn't been used so vastly in any of the jobs I did. How can I over come my fear? Where do I get started? How do I make sure I ace in interviews for fb, Amazon, Google etc? I also don't want to lose the opportunity so I definitely need to prepare my self. Has anyone been in certain situations like this? Some pointers on how to negotiate will also help if I ever were to clear their interview.
You don't have kids yet do you? You will need to use your down time to prep. You will need to give up having a life and watching Netflix and video games. And push back on the over time at work.
Pushback on overtime will be like losing my job. So that's how it is now.
How did you get out of EDA?
leetcode bro? dassit!
Your fear comes from your lack of preparation. Practice more and the fear will subside.
Heard of LeetCode?
Yes I did but those are just practice questions. I don't even know what questions they can ask.
A bunch of my interview questions at Microsoft and Facebook are on leetcode.
