How is going to H1b visa? It’s becoming too much uncertain to work with H1b visa as there is no assurance of getting h1b extension. How can someone plan to stay long in USA with family? Is it better to move out of USA?
Not sure actually. Have seen h1b extension rejection with $110k + wages as well as rejection with I140 approval. Becoming very difficult to take call for longer stay
Yes, its very difficult once your kids start going to schools. You have to make a decision either to go back to your home country, or move to Canada.
Also depends on location 110k in California is too low
And specially if u own a house here makes it more difficult
Ok this argument gets on my nerves. Didn’t you know you were on a visitor visa before buying the house? So please.
Dude there is a difference between visitor visa and work visa .. when you are paying taxes and building the economy eventually one will work forwards making the place call it a home
Agree or disagree but the reality is companies like INFY, CTS, TCS, Wipro are difficult to get extension. When you are full time with other companies, you will most likely get extension.
They are also the reason why you can't get a greencard. Even after OP's h1b is eventually rejected for his job paying too little or whatever reason his i140 will still be there in the queue delaying your priority date.
H1b is a temporary visa and not intended to be used "to stay long in USA with family".
Word
Cognizant is an outsourcing company and they pay way below market rates .
Yes it isn't intended to be permanent. Not sure why we Indians assumed that.
60% of H1B holders are Indians but remaining 40% are from other countries. And no, we don’t assume it is permanent - that is why our employers file for Green Card. Remaining 40% get the Green Card in less than a year while Indians have to wait for more than 20 years. I don’t want to argue if the wait is right or wrong- People have different perspectives but it is better to educate yourself before commenting.
The rules for green card were made 20 years ago. It is our job to be aware of laws and wait times. Also it's our job to realize that finally india is our home and running out is not a scalable or permanent solution.
High paying H1B jobs seems be safe mostly, at least for now. Low paying jobs are being eliminated
First they came for the low paying jobs ..
Define high paying
