Given Tableau’s acquisition should I stay or go to amazon?

So I’m in process of possibly moving to amazon. Considering the recent news, is it a better idea to stay at Tableau? Or is it more of an incentive to leave? What do you think?

You’d have to be out of your fucking mind to leave for Amazon right now.

Don't know in competition but Amazon have conquered most businesses they're into. But what are (your) thoughts?

The foremost direct effect of acquisitions is Org Restructuring. The first indication that you are in a bad place is an Insecure Supervisor/Manager. Take the next step accordingly.

Amazon already has it owns weapons to launch against Tableau. I don't know what's the matter with this deal. It's matter of time before Amazon takes over end to end Analytics.

Thank you all. It’s a tough decision. I’m precliff but kinda bored with my role (finance/operations) which was my main motivation to consider elsewhere.

WLB is definitely important to me as well as culture. Growth and learning opportunities are just as important to me, however. Leaving Tableau seemed worth it for growth but it sounds like the acquisition could bring more growth at SF or within Tableau itself.

Role at amazon would be in AWS under business operations. With comp being relatively equal, would you still stick with SF/Tableau or go to AWS?

Tableau's comp is slave-wage compared to AWS fyi

Finance/Ops organizations at AWS are a mess compared to Tableau. That said, if you have energy for politicking and giving up WLB, AWS is a good company to have on your resume.

He does not care TC and I think he is bored so he should accept AWS and try it out . It might turn out good or bad but will give some experience. Tableau TC is more for software engineers right now due to SF deal. It might change in future.

It seems like you did not like team or other reason which prompted you to look for new opportunities so move on . If it is money then Tableau offers more now.
