Good time to join snap?
A recruiter from Snap reached out to me on LinkedIn regarding a swe role at Snapchat. Curious if I should consider it? How is the culture and moral in the company? Do they pay well and are they struggling to attract and retail good talent?
Use it as a brand name then jump somewhere else in 2 years
Culture and morale is pretty decent, specially if you're genuinely interested in the Product. Retention is fine today and Snap still pays pretty well. You'll also be getting stock at a 30% discount from IPO price and with a great vesting schedule (no cliff), so great time to join
Can I DM any of you guys working at Snap? I have some questions regarding a position in NY
They pay pretty well and there is no cliff for stock vesting. So in case things don’t work out, move on to the next thing and you still will have your vested stocks for the duration you stayed at Snap.
Why do you want work there?
I have been a user for a long time and I like the product
You will probably make most of your money at any company through equity & their future outlook is not looking great. Personally I would stay away. Watching this post for comp details.
