Googlers - has your company found a way to upgrade eb2 to eb1 (referring to 30-40 yr long wait for indians)? Or you also think about going to canada to settle down and buy a retirement home etc., like rest of us 😢

Fuck you. Wait in line rather than cheat and game the system. This is why we need more strict policy. Not that the current one is supporting immigration but if you start gaming the system expect and accept presidents like Trump who would cheat other loopholes in the system at their levels.

Cisco has a point. If Google made it faster all other companies will followsuit. I don't see how it can be done. I think we have a better chance campaigning for getting rid of the stupid and racist diversity gc and increasing quote by 50k GC a yr!!!!!!

Diversity GC is not racist. It’s purely based on number of applicants. So, bad luck for you.

I think there should also be a cap on employees you can hire from a country like 7% diversity GC. There is a backlog because people from India and China actually constitute >70% of the STEM workforce. Its not just a mere coincidence. A company like Amazon (where I work; so can only speak for it) is filled with Chinese and Indian. They have contributed more to the success of Amazon than rest of the world (don’t hv data; but should be easy to get) I think current immigration issue will not get fixed till there is dent on businesses. They are still succeeding no matter what immigration BS their employees has to deal with. And I think it will get fixed overnight if we club GC and work visa together. No bullshit like GC is different than work visa. Enough is enough!

Not soliciting any suggestion, just sharing my thoughts and I can be totally wrong. And please please don’t lecture me on english. I know its broken.

    TC: 340K

PS: One of the several victims of current immigration BS. Proud Amazonian and Indian!

Ok, jokes and rants aside. Let me elaborate your case for EB-1 candidacy:
    1) EB-1A: This classification is for people with sports, arts, sciences and education etc. USCIS needs verifiable proof that you are extraordinary, have a record of awards or recognized in media, publications or on a global stage. This is the so called Einstein visa, which our FLOTUS qualified by doing soft-porn and doing catwalks in arts category.
    2) EB1-B: this classification is meant for those with well documented research, have patents and publications to their name. Again USCIS needs atleast three years of research experience and well documented references and citations. Odds are you’re not qualified for this, if you’re Google immigration team will present this option to you at the time of hire and your TC would reflect that.
    3) EB-1C: this classification is meant for executives and multi-national transferees. You need to be employed abroad by your petitioner for more than 12months in a managerial role to qualify for this qualification. And by far this classification is the easiest to achieve and heavily abused by our brethren of shitty Indian consulting companies (read TCS, Infosys and Cognizant and other tier-3 shit hole firms that pay 60k an year)

So, as you see the immigration law as it is doesn’t care who your employer is, what is your TC or what you studied. Rather it fits any applicant in the above three classifications.

So, your option of attaining a EB1 petition is dependent upon work your ass off in doing research/gain patents, gain media or sports recognition or go find an shitty employer who can sponsor you via EB-1C.
Odds are Google won’t help you with any of it because there’s no incentive for them to help you; heck, if they do there are thousands more like you who demand the same. So, please get back in line ?

  • Only serious response - it depends on your profile, not on Google. Though it would be interesting to see how acceptable is this to Google lawyers in general.

If they are conservative, they would hesitate to do this unless the employee is well accomplished. Lawyers usually are conservative. Having said that, it means a lot of money to the lawyers, so not sure. Only some one from G who has been in the muck pit will know
