Google L3 VS Amazon SDE2
TC is 220k (still negotiating) for G cloud team in the Bay Area and 260k for A in Seattle. My major concern for working for Amazon is the rumored toxic environment. If choosing G, obviously leave quite a lot money on the table when considering living expense and state tax. Any suggestions guys?

I would take G. Less money, but better work environment, you’re gonna get promoted in a year, and Mountain View is way nicer than Seattle.
Take amazon, save up for an year or two, come back to bay area with higher TC

But actually the initial offer from G is insulting. I mean when company thinks they can exploit you, they surely will do. G recruiter actually used the same argument to try sway me.
Also, that comp difference after tax is about the price of paying for breakfast, lunch and snacks (free at G) for a year.
That's true. Also I personally don't enjoy cooking and I'm not a huge fan of bananas :D

Long hours is not that a big issue for me. I heard that some managers did horrible things like putting preforming SDE on the DEV list. And since I'm on H1-B visa, it would be quite bad if that happens.
they wont put you on pip if you put the hour, no way. unless you are super non productive or have attitude
