I got a job at both places. TC is rather the same. Which place should I go to? Iβm mainly concerned if job hop/promotion will be easier from one from the other. My target is to increase my TC ASAP. What would you recommend? I have two Google internships in my resume if this can be of a value as well. TC: MS: 130k base/20% max bonus/10% max annual stock/40k signon/140k stock Google: 113k base/15% target bonus/50k signon/200k stock
Google no doubt. If TC is only focus having. Google on your resume will make significant difference
You sure this is Google L3? If yes, you are way down leveled, go to Microsoft
What do you mean? Am I getting lowballed? Both in Seattle btw
Google L3 is entry level, Microsoft L61 is two levels above entry level.
No it is not You read more posts about Google down levelling. Microsoft L63 generally considered for L4 google
Now you are exaggerating. L63 is definitely L5
Go for Google. In 2-3 years you can likely get an L4 promotion and a huge increase. At MS you won't get nearly the raises or refreshers. On the flip side MSR is really cool and a few good projects thee could really help your career. Same with Google though.
MSR is a really good organization, go for MSR
Google, for sure. Better TC over time, better perks. The chance of 20% bonus in MS is very low, most people get less than 10% for that level
Regular Google better than regular MS but MSR is better than regular Google.
Is this still true if I am an engineer? Iβm not a research scientist. Just will be in MSR
OP, what is your career goal? Do you want to do more academic/research stuff or things that align very well with the team at MSR? If not, easy decision - G. If so, depends on teams a lot.
why did they level you at 61?
What is the TC breakdown for G?
113k base/17k bonus/50k signon/200k stocks over 4 years
