I am trying find out the difference between SWE Infra vs SETI role. While the difference between SWE and SETI is well discussed on blind I could not find any difference between SE Infra vs SWE/SETI The job description on Google career page seems to indicate there some differnce but it is not clear what role would an SEI play in a group full of SWE working on a product.
SETI have a little less internal mobility since there are fewer teams with SETI positions. The pay is the same. I've heard that promos are easier, so in that sense, if you really like infra, SETI could be a great career choice
SWE infrastructure would work more on the Google infrastructure (not necessarily related to testing). But SETI will be building infrastructure for testing, improving productivity, making deployments simpler, faster, reliable, alert and monitoring infra.
