Just want to get a general idea of how people perceive these two companies and pro &. cons for both in persoective of learning opportunities, growth, TC, benefits etc. TC 100K
Amazon has a big name but definitely not a good workplace.
any place is better than SLB.. where you based out of? Kibsgaard Country Club (San Felipe, Katy or Sugarland), or, Belani Country Club on Sand Hill Rd?
Hahahahaha agree, but canโt tell it would be too obvious
BTW ur name is funny
Worked at both. Amazon gives you lots of opportunity for impact - you might own a major service and get to work on it 60-80 hours a week. Google gives you everything else โ better comp, perks, caring, full 401k match, vacation, WLB, etc.
Is it really like that at Google? What if one wants to make impact? Contrary, Can one just eternally chill and push few lines of code here and there?
100% depends on the team. You can find teams on either to coast at, or get a team that challenges you to grow, or challenges you to give up your life to work on insignificant bullshit
I would alternate between them like 2:3
Have been at Amazon for 3 years. Love it. Having an impact means a lot to me, and I have a throw-up amount of responsibility. Love. It.
Been to both. Overall really enjoyed both. Hated politics and Amazon expands too much, hired some outside ppl that screwed up the team culture so I left.
only difference is Pros applicable to Google and Cons is for Amazon.
Op, you're new to Blind? ๐
Kind of, whatโs up
Google gooood ๐ Amazon baaaad ๐
Lol from an Amazonian. Could you please give a little more reasons?
Grass is always greener outside.
