Google and PTO policy

Considering accepting an offer with Google. PTO policy for employees is 15 days / year for the first 3 years. Maybe I’m just spoiled, but this seems low for a tech company. Snap has unlimited PTO- and yes- I am able to utilize it without negative effects. Any Googlers want to share their thoughts on this? Do you miss not having more PTO? Can employees “get away” with taking more time off?

I don’t like unlimited pto. With real pto you can get a payout if you quit with a balance

Well actually there is unlimited PTO if your manager is willing to give you that. My previous manager did not have issue with me going on a vacation for more than a month as long as I am able to complete rest of the stuff.

T-Mobile is 3 weeks of PTO, 11 holidays with 1 of them being floating to use whenever.

You’re comparing to non-tech firms, AT&T. Google is one of the only firms in the bay that doesn’t offer this. The rationale is that people don’t necessarily use it unless they make PTO at least somewhat scarce.
