What is happening with G comp. They are low balling so much based off two of my colleagues who went there recently. (I'm surprised they took the offer) My Amazon offer was much higher than theirs. (We have same levels of experience, but obviously interviews are a hit or miss) It seems F and N are the best comp among FANG. G has moved to the bottom below A in my book. I get people want G on their resume, but is it really worth low TC ? Edit: Their comp wasn't any different to their current Microsoft comp and they went from Senior(63/64) to L4 there. The only positive was G does regular refreshers so eventually do better. I went from Senior(64) to L6(Amazon) and making 130+k more.

They are especially bad at initial offer. Mine was 220k for L4 and jumped to 370k after giving compete offer. Still declined.
Any data to backup your story? Also, companies will make offers based on how much they want/need you and how well you negotiate.
Updated main description with alittle more detail.
Seems like G will low-ball unless the candidate has competing offers :/
Yeah my friends took the offer without competing offers. Dumb. They didn't expect to get through is what they said ... Could they have kept the offer for a year and then still competed ?
No. Google offers expire in 2 weeks (if you're not in school)
Probably people coming from amazon, Fb, Netflix won’t get low balled. No one should spend more than 4 years in any company as it will give them a chance to lowball as stocks are vested in 4 years.
G offer is worse than F in general. Even after negotiation at both the difference is still a little bit significant. G has more than 100k employees, F has 25k according to last report. G cap is 863B, F is 509B. So basically each employee at F earns more money for the company, hence the difference in comp is still... cheap tho 🤣
Are you an Asian male?
Google tried to hire me last year. Amazon matched and exceeded their comp. Talked to Google recruiter again this year - told them my target number. Radio silence. Google seems to only be able to compete for 1) lazy people who want to rest and vest 2) career parkers who will stay at Google for the next 20 years 3) people who want to take a TC hit to put the Google name on their resume for a few years 4) people moving from other parts of the country or crappy jobs in SV and don't know they can do better. If you don't fit into any of those categories, Google doesn't seem competitive.
My experience was opposite. When I told my G recruiter about Amazon offer, they went 20k up and Amazon gave up. I guess it is based on your interview performance, your skill set and how badly they want you.
The only type of people remaining are greedy people?
For level, MS L63/64 is G L4 by default. Someone can get L5 but it’s a small number. For comp, without competing offer, G just offers the max of standard L4 and your current comp. With competing, it can be very high.
Can you give more detail? Yoe? Positions? Locations? How good did they do on interviews? Race/gender? What is "low" TC?
Yoe: 10+ for all 3 of us. Location: Seattle for all 3 of us I answered more in my comment below. Race/Gender: All Asian males. Does this matter ?
