Google relo for L6
Considering a position in the Bay with Google and I'm wondering what the relo benefit would look like. Do they help with home sale? I've seen a lot of figures for points and lump sums for L3/L4, but nothing really for L5/L6.
The benefit is in points, which you can use for relocation services. The lump sum cashout value is generally not very much compared to the redemption value in services. At L5/L6+, the cashout value is probably $10k, or $30k+ in services.
Really? I've been seeing cashouts of 30k± for L4s in previous posts
Why are you expecting more? The value of the points for is different than cashing out. It's not meant to be a sign on bonus. I guess that's what happens when you don't have MKs.
FWIK the reloc package does not change drastically (if at all it does) for L5/6. It is for VPs and beyond where they get extra benefits than the rest of the crowd (like option to buy a home and Google lends support financially). L1-7 are all the same wrt relocation benefits (points vs cash out)
Why would a potential L6 care about relocation bonus ? Isn't that insignificant ?
No amount of money is insignificant. There are also convenience aspects to it.
