300k at 63??? I honestly think people on blind don’t know how to add...or there are some rockstars who make waaaaay more than I do.
My sign on stock was around 60/share and now it’s doubled🤷🏽♂️ also last year there was ssa. Two levels up so base bumped by ~30%. If you do the calculation it’s not hard to be 250-300k tc
Of course it will significantly drop to 200k ish once all my initial stock got vested. That’s why i am starting to look around
Let me tell you this. You have zero chance. You think leveling is like a matter of you get some coffee with the recruiter and convince him?
I think people do that always right? At least tried and there were successfully cases. What supports your “zero chance” statement? Experience of yourself? Then sorry to hear
Ive been a hiring bar raiser at Amazon and its not possible to pass that HBR without doing more interview rounds. I say its zero chance because you probably didn’t do well in system design and they will not just take that interview again. Ok yeah if a VP approves your case you can get L6. Good luck with that
Sorry this wont happen in any scenario if outcome of interview was l5. No manager, recruiter has that power. What you can do is to work with your manager to come up with plan for l6 but i wont count on that.
Appreciate! Then i may simple wait for a number and turn it off.
Higher level is sometimes possible with more interviews, depending on your situation. Talk to the recruiter and let them know you would like to join at higher level what needs to be done.
Sounds reasonable. I will just let em know my expectations. If there are more interviews needed for this i am fine with it.
I have heard there’s a thing called mishire. If new hire perform way above his level in the first 6 months and the manager is onboard, they can bump your level without standard promotion process.
Most managers won’t assign critical work to a new hire, how do you perform way above?
Agree. Also it is risky
You won’t becuz u arrogant af
Hello nobody
You are not that good as you think you are
did they come back with numbers ? I am kind of in similar boat with SDE role. Whats your YOE ?
Not yet. They say will get back early next week if not today. 2.5 yoe + phd. How about you?
Why don’t you negotiate to CTO position? Dream big!
I will when I feel I can. Now i just want to get the fucking senior and not under level myself
Jokes aside, you almost can never negotiate your level up, as the interview standards usually are different.
