Anybody got any advice on how to get my green card case moving? Filed in Feb 2017 (priority date is current - rest of the world) and see lots of March / April cases being issued but February is stuck. There seems so be nothing I can do to get my case moving. This process sucks so bad - I hate the total helpless feeling!
I just asked my psychic. She said, it will be unstuck in 20 days and you would hear from USCIS. Good news is you are not required to take any actions. This is really a good news!
2017? There are people who are waiting from 10 years, and you are already stuck? Wow
Yep, "rest of the world", so no priority date wait. I know for some this process takes half of a career span and I'm lucky that's not the case for me. So since I should be done now, and I seem to have skipped I wonder what I can do to get my case going..?
STFU and wait. There are ppl waiting for the past 20 years, some probably more eligible than you, paying and contributing to the economy more than you.
Just be patient. It is not a strict FIFO
Long time back, I called my senator's office, they made a call to USCIS, and it was "unstuck" next morning. Worth a shot if you are impatient.
Same thing, senator's aide helped a lot.
Would it work even if I just filed AOS/I485? Can calling senator office help move my "recently filed" I485 move faster?
Senator's office work in this case. They have aids just for this purpose. They can solve it for you. They are eager to represent you since you have been taxed already 😁
Which stage are you at ? If it’s I140 you can pay for premium processing after the fact. That’s what I did
Did just that for the I140, so I've got that approved and ready.
So what you are saying is that you are just waiting for your 485 and you already have EAD ? If so you can move on that - ie change job I’m a drunk Irishman so I recommend you confirm everything that’s said here with a sane stable additional source
Thanks for the Senator suggestion. I have a follow-up service request pending and once that's back (they said by 2/10) I'll contact my senator.
Did you hear back from Senator?
I received my card a couple of weeks ago 😊 soooo happy. The Senator didn’t do anything. The Congressman inquiry got a super generic and useless response within 2 weeks. What helped was finally getting an Infopass appointment (I had to log on between midnight and 5:00am to snag one of those). A sympathetic agent there emailed the agent that was assigned to my case. That got things going. Had to redo medicals because of all the delay. But finally got there - and got my promotions a week later!!!
check with the center where it’s being processed !
I filed a service request, but all I got was a response saying "wait 60 more days, then call again". It didn't even say what will happen after those 60 days are up.
