Hayward

Anybody here live in Hayward that can comment on how safe the city and neighborhood is? Considering purchasing a SFH there. Looking for a home to buy to commute to Burlingame. TC 360.

I bought here. Seems good to me so far. Very few white people though here.

What are the pros and cons of living in Hayward? I just want to live in a safe neighborhood since I have a newborn.

Try buying in a gated community. Pros- Go for work in SF & South Bay Cons- Not considered a good area

Warner bros pays so much?

Don’t think someone with 360 TC will buy in Hayward!

It's pretty bad. Look at Union City and Fremont instead

Is it worth the extra 15 minutes commute each way to work and the extra cost? I’m trying to get to Burlingame.

Indeed Ryry Apr 14, 2019

I’d do Daly City or San Bruno for a similar cost.

I lived in Hayward 2015-2017. Honestly I wouldn’t go back. I don’t think it’s worth buying a house there.

Why is that?

I used to love around Industrial Blvd generally there was a lot of petty crime compared to surrounding areas, like breaking into cars, mugging, etc. Now I live in Fremont, of course it’s not the best area around but I feel like better than Hayward.

I live in Hayward in the Santa Clara district it's super close to San Mateo and Burlingame you just go straight over 92. The neighborhood is good, mostly families I haven't seen anything sketchy in the 2 years that I've been here. The con is there aren't great schools in Hayward so you might have to enroll your children in private. Houses are still pretty affordable you can get one between 650-750k
