I will send $50 to the person who’s advice I take on investing! Through venmo. I value your time to give me information and advice and reasons. My current state: I am a young person who has no idea what they are doing. I have $90k in cash and $34k in S&P and other stocks. I have Google stock coming in from work and I’m letting it sit there. I have no financial goals, I just want to build wealth for the day I have some. I make around $175k TC. I am comfortable taking on some risk, but if I lost 20-30% of an investment I may want to sell. I’m maxing my 401k. What has worked for you? What do you think I should do? Ideas and reasons?
I use a company called Financial Engines. They have significantly helped me with my retirement accounts. They are a financial advisor who can help you with whatever your end goal is.
Visit boglehead.com . Make a portfolio using 2-3 vanguard funds . Long term (10 to 20 years) this portfolio will out perform most of the other investments alternatives .
Well if you have no financial goals then put it as max to 401k
You can look into companies that can automatically invest for you an example of one is wealthsimple which they may have some referral bonuses that could help too (they will waive the fees for a year on 10k-15k with a referral )
Wealthfront can manage 60k for free as a google perk
Put 2 to 5% in crypto
Crap
You are 💩
Invest in companies that you believe in long term. When they inevitably dip 20-30% you better be buying more not selling. Don’t sell at a loss...suck it up.
Are u interested in earning bitcoin with mining?
I don’t know where to start, but i’d be interested if I thought there was a chance for me. am i too late in the game?
Google "3 fund portfolio". Use bogleheads.org as sounding board. Diversified portfolio with a plan you're willing to stick to through thick & thin is the best way to succeed.
Consider robo advisors too for the traditional stock&bond portfolio. They do portfolio rebalance and tax harvesting - you ‘re really hands off. If you enjoy riskier investments, allocate some for individual stocks but you’ll have to spend some time researching and keep up with the news. Other than that, crypto if you enjoy the concept - but it’s extremely volatile.
If you have no idea what you are doing stick to boring and simple for the time being - but an S&P ETF that tracks the market with the lowest fees possible ie ticker SPY which it sounds like you already have. If you want something crazy/fun take $10k as your fun money and pick two crazy stocks to follow while you learn want you are doing
