Hey WayFair what's your plan?

At WF given that WLB is notorious but what's your plan for survival against market leaders? I don't want my resume to read "Famous Online Marketplace - Wayfair.com" in ten years. Could some insiders please enlighten me?

There's always a bigger sucker out there. We all have different circumstances. And to some people, proper work-life "balance" means ≈80 hours per week enjoying work, and the other 80 hours enjoying life.

What planet is that?

I think they're from Earth, but am not sure.

If you’re considering joining Wayfair, don’t. You’ll regret it the good ones are trying to get out. It’s not a tech company. It’s a logistics and marketing company.

Wayfair’s WLB is notoriously good or bad? Genuine question

Wayfair jvVs48 Jun 15, 2019

For me it's amazing. But I'm not on the tech side, and based on what I read here the engineering stuff stinks

I’m in engineering as a department but not an engineer. My WLB is fantastic and I know a lot of my engineers don’t do shit, but they’re also always on call essentially. It really varies by team but I wonder how people actually do feel about the WLB here

I do probably 30-35 hours a week. Since leadership can’t align on a strategy and they keep hiring people to the point where we have nearly a 1:1 ratio between pm/eng, I’ve been working on very simple short term projects that take up a fraction of my day. I could work 20 hours a week and get all my stuff done.

Same as a non engineer. Work comes and goes for me, but even on a busy week I could absolutely work maybe 25 hours a week and finish everything. I don’t know if I love or hate it.

Wayfair JIaU40 Jun 18, 2019

I hate it. I’m not growing. I’m regressing.
