Currently interviewing for a consultant/traveling contractor job, 50/50 travel and wfh. The TC is fantastic for a rust belt city, I don't have kids, and spent ten years as a freelancer up until 3 years ago, so I know how to work independently. It looks like fun, and looks a lot like my freelancing days without the boring parts and more hotels. So what's it like for you?
True 50% travel is brutal. Make sure you shop at grocery stores when you're away from home. Eat produce. Exercise. Avoid alcohol. You cannot live on restaurant food.
What's the TC?
Not certain yet, but it looks like it'll be somewhere in the 190k range
300k would make me travel 50%
