Horrible public transport
They Bay area governments must be super Rich with crazy taxes coming from all these billion $$ companies. So clearly, budget shouldn't be an issue, then why is the public transport all across so terrible. I lived in the east coast for a while and it's so much better there, despite it being a rather poor city. Tc: 180
There are 22 different transit agencies in the Bay Area. That should tell you how inefficient the system is and why.

Ever notice how the Bay Area has 101 fiefdoms instead of one regional government? Yeah, that’s what causes this in part. Everyone wants to be in charge, everyone wants to run things their own special little way...and then BOOM, we have 30 transit agencies, no coordination, and utter dysfunction (and yet we’re still better than some other cities/regions) They have problems, but look to how NYC, London, and Amsterdam run their transit. Makes the Bay Area look like a fucking joke.
Lobbying by car companies and gas companies.
Those companies are all incorporated in Delaware and Dublin. They aren't paying a dollar in ca taxes lol
California Infrastructure has bad public transportation by design based on decades of influence by the auto industry
They wanted to extend the Caltrain and Bart but rich motherf* protested against it, because it will decrease the value of their houses.... welcome to Bay Area
