Some of the numbers mentioned for my company, at least, seem too good to be true and I have been working for 3+ years. levels.fyi TC: 260k YoE: 9
Pretty accurate. Doesn't always clearly differentiate between comp for current employees and new hire offers (vastly different at Amazon), but other than that, seems in the right ballpark.
It does say yoe at current company vs yoe total, that’s what is differentiating. As you’d expect, the less yoe at the current company, generally the higher the TC.
People post fake salaries?
Oh I am sure at least a few of the salaries posted are fake.
One or two bad entries will not effect the average. If the delta of submitted salary and the current average is too big, the sample is probably rejected. And of course a whole lot of other parameters make sure that outliers are not considered for average salary calculations.
I usually look at the aggregations which are very very accurate. There are some data points which are obviously fake but it seems like they're filtering outliers in the aggregations
TripleEye itself is a recruiting company, they’ve definitely seen real offers, maybe even more than the data points people input on the website.
It seems pretty accurate
What in particular seems inaccurate? Any example?
I kinda have an idea of the salary bands for the levels at my company and when I see post having a salary that's way out of line, I have a good reason to think it's fake.
Which band? what is the range that levels.fyi shows and what do you think it actually is?
