Whenever I pass googlers and facebookers who go on ski trips and went to Harvard and take business class vacations and can speak seven languages and can play the violin i feel like they’re a different species. It feels like I’m a member of the losing “average” class. Meanwhile they have their whole life ahead of them but I have nothing. Stats: 150k TC, 1500/1600 SAT, mediocre state school
Ha ha... You don't! There'll always be someone better than you, younger than you, more good looking than you... It's a race to the bottom... Use this energy to improve yourself in an area..
There are too many people better than me and they all work across the street!
So what? You'll never be the best at everything. There'll always be someone better.. And also.. Who defines what is better? People working in academia shit on Googlers ... There'll always be someone "better"
Dude you're talking like a total loser. Someone else going to Harvard and working at Google doesn't make you a worst person, the way you talk and think about someone elses situation is making you a worst person. You've gotten pretty far. You can learn a new language and play the violin with that money Amazon is sending your way. You really want to feel better than other people... buy a Mercedes or a Tesla. Live YOUR life.
It does make me worse because it feels like I’m not even human compared to them. I can’t afford a Tesla dude. My net worth is so low Meanwhile one of my boys at Twitter at all places was flexin about how he doubled his investment account because of all of the RSUs he gets
Fuck that guy. Go to the gym and get a hot gf. It's totally possible with enough determination. Everyone sucks at something/many things. The world went to vikings, conquistadores, and pirates, not scholars, kings and nobles. Keep that in mind. The default setting to life is an even playing field, the only real obstacle are the thoughts in your mind.
Youre the banana-fueled jock and theyre just lowly nerds.
Dont continue with this destructive mindset. Everyone is great at something, and i can tell you those Googlers from Harvard also have huge insecurities about many things as well.
I’m sure they do but theirs are probably dumber
You'll never be happy if you compare your own income with someone else's. I lived in a city and sent my kid to private school where there was at least one billionaire, a couple multi-hundred millionaires, and a dozen tens-of millionaires - out of a class of about 30 kids. Doctors, engineers, and lawyers were the low end of the income spectrum here. Yes, it would be awesome to be able to buy a brownstone to live in while renovating your other brownstone, or to have box seats to 4 sports teams, etc, but I chose not to focus on that. Instead, I chose to focus on the fact that I do have think about money, but it's because I'm saving up for $10k purchases, instead of $100 purchases like I was in my 20's.
Go eat 🍌 and leetcode.
I'll tell you a tale of two great men whose strength knew no bounds. Their names are Goku (or KAKAROT!!) and Vegeta. Both naturally talented with a thirst to continue improving. They fought endless battles and improved every time. Vegeta was jealous of Goku's natural growth and fought to 1up Goku or at the very least match his level. Years have gone by and Vegeta recognized that he wasn't fighting to be better than Goku, but to be a better version of himself. This detachment of ego allowed Vegeta to refine his abilities with a more balanced approach. Also, let's say Goku's power level reached 10Million, but Vegeta's power level reached 9Million. Clearly, Goku is stronger, but Vegeta's power level IS STILL 9MILLION!! That's insane. He used to be at 4 or 500 and now he's at 9MILLION?? Have some perspective. You may not be #1 (which is a temporary position to have in most fields if you think about it) but you still top rank, and that's good enough for YOU. Look at how far you've come!
Become a manager and make such geniuses work for YOU. (Disclaimer: don't become a micro-managing jerk while doing so)
They don’t accept our offers. My team has made them !
The difference between over achievers the average person isn't typically only ones mental capacity. More often, it comes down to their drive. How driven are you to learn new skills and hobbies and spend countless hours practicing?.. or are you just more likely to give up and go finish binge watching that Netflix show instead?
Well you’re at FANG.
It’s Amazon not Google. All the Google people shitting on Amazon on this app and online constantly remind me of this! And I know I can’t get an offer there because (again) I’m a defective.
You're already in the top like 1% of the planet as far as earnings. Chill. And get rid of the things that cause problems with your mental health.
