I resigned in 2016 as SWE L4 after a prolonged battle with my physical and mental health. I had strong performance from 2012-2015 with a promo in 2013, but my performance suffered in my last year and I wrote very little code. I have a new job now but I miss the quality of life at Google. How do I determine if Google wants me back or if I'm blacklisted? It feels like my case is borderline. I don't think my line manager during my last year was a big fan of me, but my other managers were.
Just apply and see if they get back?
Try to get referral from former managers and colleagues?
Mate, just go and find a different workplace that will help you find that perfect wlb. In the end nothing really matters but the people in your life.
How would blind ppl know. Ask your manager or recruiter
Ask your manager. If you don’t have the rapport to ask him it was not regrettable
So previous manager has the final say, even if track record with managers before that was good? That's a shame. What about the strong performers who quit because of a bad manager?
Last manager has the say unfortunately... when life gives you lemons...
Recruiters usually keep in touch at least every year after leaving google. Did you get any reach out? If not, then it was probably not regretable.
No, I haven't had any recruiters contact me. Thanks for pointing this out
What's the criteria for regrettable? CME or higher?
There’s no criteria. It’s just a box to click as part of the exit process. A manager can mark a S as non regrettable if s/he wants 🤷🏼♂️
apply for a job. so easy why is this even a question
Recruiter can see
Is there a recruiter on Blind who can check my file for me? 🙏
