Associate Applications Engineer @ Analog Devices in Santa Clara BSEE, working on MS and graduating in the following spring base: 95k bonus: 10% sign on: 10k rsu: 15k (25% per year for 4 years)
Don’t do it unless you love Analog. Dead beat company making a commodity.
It's far from commodity products that we make. But who cares about that. TC and job satisfaction are mostly what people are here to discuss.
Who gets excited about Analog Devices offers ? Are we back to 1980s ?
Go elsewhere, unless you absolutely have nowhere else to go. Good work/life balance but unfortunately our pay is capped. You’ll make less than a typical software engineer, even with 20+ years of experience (about 3% raise, you can calculate for yourself). E11 bonus factor is also about 15%.
There are larger than 3% raises when you get promoted. Just don't get stuck in a job level for too long.
If you cannot go into software, and this is your passion, go for it. Gain a couple of years of experience and then jump to Apple for 2x TC.
That's a very good package for a new grad. ADI is very chill and work life balance is great. Just make sure you don't get stuck there too long.
If you have other opportunity , try somewhere else. At level E13 , they offered me something which is lower than an E9 level job elsewhere. They boost a lot on their benefit however it is not even comparable with other big companies. I feel like their salaries have not been updated for the last 7 years.
I would ask 120K base and 40K RSU and 20K sign on.
worried that i am getting lowballed
Looks about right to me. I'd say you could get more sign on bonus. You can make more elsewhere but our work life balance is exceptionally good which is why our pay is below average.
