Curious how important a Github profile is when starting to apply to the top tier companies. I have one or two simple apps on there but nothing complex or fancy. Wondering if it matters when resume is submitted.

Once in a while a recruiter or your interviewer may look at your Github profile. It’s a plus if it’s impressive, doesn’t dock you any points if it isn’t

It's important in mainly two cases: - you're a graduating student/junior dev - you're applying for a job, which requires something that your current job doesn't cover, but GitHub does.

It can help as a signal that you code in your spare time. Though most don’t check.
