I don't know much about Salesforce. Was pinged by one of their recruiters on LI. How does Salesforce TC compare to other Tier 1 & 2 tech companies for SDE/SDE2 ? Do they have good, talented people in the engineering teams ? What about WLB & quality of work ? Also, is there anyone here who switched from MSFT to Salesforce ? How has your experience been so far ?
TC will likely beat MSFT, Oracle and the likes first 4 years. Stock refreshes are more rare than other T1/T2 tech companies. Work life balance is great and very flexible. As with all companies, there are great people and there are not great people, but the majority are doing the right things in the right ways. SFDC also opens the window to switch teams 3x per year so it’s easy to find a new team or cloud (business unit) if you aren’t happy.
Thanks for the response. Recruiter mentioned the opening is in Core Kernel team ? Any idea what this team does ?
Think of it like the typical kernel, it’s the main subsystem which everything else is built around. You’ll be working in an area that impacts everyone. High visibility if you’re into that. Very high visibility if all dependent tests start failing.
Wait, we have PMs that drive things?
You literally just summed up salesforce
Trying to get interview with them, but hasn't gotten any response from their recruiters. This is when I easily got calls from FANG sf Bay Area. How did you get the call?
A recruiter reached out to me.
Tc is super low. Recruiter was good and informed me before hand they wont match and probably had to come in for lesser pay, had to reject before the onsite interview
FWIW, this is likely team specific . We did match a candidate s offer from Apple .
Comp is 80% of FANG if you are joining now. WLB is unmatched. You can retire and not do a thing here. They won't fire you.
80% of FANG lol. Forget FANG It wasn't even half my pay
Maybe when you join that's true.. but no refreshers at Salesforce. So it will be 50% of FANG after a few years.
