How liberal (really) are professionals in San Fransisco?

It's no secret that San Francisco is arguably one of the most far-left areas of the country. I'm wondering how much of that is simple virtue signaling and how much of that is sincere beliefs.

I had an openly gay co-worker once tell me it's easier to come out as gay than it is to come out as a conservative in the Bay area. Would you say this is true?

How many in the area are closet moderates or conservatives that simply go along with left-wing politics just to avoid conflicts and to keep their career secure?

The socially conservative are completely ostracized. Believe in traditional marriage but have a gay teammate? Good luck navigating that land mine. Easier to pretend to go along “fake it” and keep your private beliefs between yourself and God.

Was segregation a “preference” NO! We can agree that was wrong? Marriage inequality, less human rights for gay people is WRONG. There is no debate here. We can have beliefs on economics, taxes etc but when it comes to human rights there is a right and a wrong belief.

Where can I find the definitive definition of human rights? What is the source of its authority?

Ape, you are not going to get very far with ad hominem arguments (NO, WRONG, “no debate” without logic or supporting rationale).

Religious freedom is enshrined in our constitution, so get used to DIVERSITY my friend.

He’s often rude, and full of himself. But his policies are bucking the establishment More than any president in the last hundred years. The rebalancing was overdue.

There are only a few periods in history a religion has gone this radical. The lawless Inquisition era is pretty close to what we have now. Replacing physical torture with less bloody but more destructive mental terror.

Good news, you’re completely misguided if you think that you uncovered a relevant parallel with history. There’s no torture, there’s just politicians lying for political gain. You are right that is very sad and there are some parallels to dark chapters in history on that front

Trump is just rooting for another kind of establishment, him and his family. So we go from a crappy establishment to a shitty establishment

Again that’s a ridiculous mischaracterization. Trump has benefited personally from illegal immigration, now he’s trying to reduce it not for his own benefit.

Likewise he’s personally benefited from globalization, now it’s trying to rain that in again not for his own personal benefit.

It’s so irrationally liberal/leftist that it turned me into a conservative.

That’s after voting for Nader Obama and Hillary.

Just because Kamala is playing AOCs playbook I'm probably voting conservative this year... I too supported Obama and Hillary several years back

Yeah, a centrist candidate may do miracles. DNC however has already committed to a clown fest.

I don’t live in sf but I was once a fairly non-partisan centrist (maybe slightly left of center). Now Trump has turned me into a partisan democrat/lefty...

^^^ So you dislike him so much, the you are willing to go after self-destructive voting? Not an expert, but isn't that a textbook TDS?

Haha that's funny I totally forgot about that scene 😂 Definitely true then. Although, I think in the show it was talking about coming out as Christian.

I’ve spent a lot of time living/working in different major cities (NYC, DC, Seattle) and to me the Bay Area has the most liberal folks by a long shot. East coast has cities lean very heavily to the democrat side, but aren’t as liberal as SF.
