I have nearly a decade of professional leadership experience in SCM, project management, and process improvement; coupled with significant entrepreneurial experience. Former supply chain leader for @Amazon & @Cabela's turned entrepreneur. Launched 1st startup in 2015, & we were acquired in 2016. Any advice?
Apply.
I have applied for a few major startups, and I've had only a few interviews. What is the typical background and experience for current employees and potential candidates @Facebook?
Yeah take a Bayesian Scoring (BS) course
Deal. Do you recommend any specific courses? I believe there's one on Coursera.
There are several teams in Amazon where your Process background will be a perfect match as a Product Manager. You should try the fulfillment related teams such as SCOT, Prime, Amazon Logistics, Last mile, or even Retail teams such as Sports or Outdoors.
Yes, I was formerly a leader of the ACES team. Although I was not expecting to return to the marvelous Amazon, I will definitely check it out. Thanks!
There are Walmart’s and targets looking for product leaders with sc experience
If you have any additional insight regarding these positions @Walmart or Target please feel free to share. Also, if you have any connections to this position I would to chat more in-depth.
Supply chain expertise is well valued ther
That's great info! Thanks.
Honestly your experience sounds more process than product guy, although the entrepreneur experience could help, depending on what it was.
Yes, somewhat. Additionally, my previous positions consisted of selecting, validating, implementing new products, systems, and solutions in SC & logistics related environments.
The op reads very process focused. If your resume reads that way thats likely your blocker. I’d lead with the product experience and de-emphasize the process. Articulate what the products were and the impact etc.
