I started my career as a programmer analyst and currently doing program management. I'm interested in writing technical papers, speaking in conferences, and be on the advisory council of start ups. For example, like Scott Hanselman, Josh Long or Arun Gupta. You nerds know what I mean. One of my tech paper got accepted for publication in IEEE IT pro but it takes a year for the actual publication to happen. I'm not familiar with other media that I can publish or how to get invited to speak in conferences. Has anyone here done such things in the past? Edit : Spelling

Approach these famous people, and ask them if they would mentor you. Most of these folks are eager to help. Their advice would be far better than anything you can get on Blind.

No thanks.
Start a tech YouTube channel like TechLead & Joma, that will give you a base. Also, build your LinkedIn network, Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter.
Also, start applying/asking to talk at any conferences related to your field!
Yeah, social media is good. For conferences, I thought one has to get invited.
No one gives a f about these people outside our tech bubble . It’s not fame
He wants to be famous in the tech bubble, let him seek his fame.
Gee. Self loathing is high with this one.
