I Reverse Engineered Amazon L4 - L6 Pay Bands
I pulled data from various sources and set some criteria to remove outliers with the goal of determining the L4 - L6 pay bands for recent hires. Folks who have been hired several years back may enjoy a TC which is higher due to stock appreciation, however, the focus of this data is on the last 2 years and most likely the bands for any incoming L4 - L6 SDE.
Happy to be wrong, please help improve the data if you don't agree. I would say that the below data is accurate for 90%+ accurate and would be the TC for any INCOMING OFFER at Amazon in the SF Bay Area.
Location: SF Bay Area (could apply to other locations, ie Seattle)
Data: TC offer from Amazon for incoming SDE
L4 SDE TC: Ceiling at 160k at the upper end of the band
L5 SDE TC: Varies from 150 - 200k
L6 SDE TC: Varies from 180k - 250k
*TC = Total Compensation (Base Salary + Sign On Bonus + RSUs)
At Amazon, RSU is:
Sign on Bonus is over 2 years to compensate for the low RSU %.
