S386 was a horrible bill and not fair. If they really wanted to change something, they could have taken small steps like increase GC % for people born in India or have a different queue for folks with US degree. But, they came up and lobbied for a very unfair bill which has lead to just one thing : Hatred against Indians. Twitter is full of folks from ROW spewing racist comments. IV’s recent post about Senator just took things to a new low. Day after say some news website keeps publishing negative articles about Indians. So IV, all you did is fuel racism against Indians.
What a shitty summary. Where are you from OP?
Don't worry OP, now that the bill is in the dustbin, people will find other races to hate for their failures
It’s getting added to a must pass bill in the next month. Durbin won’t be able to stop it
Do you guys think IV is a credible organization to begin with?
Passage of this bill alone will put every skilled immigrant in the same side, and hence will be a precursor to a more comprehensive merit based system.
What happened to the bill? Is it still a thing?
Seriously, immigration voice should change the name to INDIAN VOICE. WHAT A JOKE? Please fix India first. Senator Mike Lee should run for senator in India instead. There is bias among Indians of hiring other Indian workers in the IT industry. We need a country cap on h1b visas. Indian consulting and other companies issued 50k + visas to Indians every year.
Country cap on H1B is the best idea but companies will not let that happen as they need lower wage workers to have bigger profit margins. Money runs America.
How is that a good idea? It will only screw legit Indians even more because WITCH will take away all the Indian H1Bs. We just need a wage based solution. Put 120k minimum wage for non-academic positions. That will make it infeasible for WITCH to operate. It's not just India that's sending low-wage low-skilled workers. There are just not so many of them from any other country for you to notice.
Twitter is full of bots for sure.
