I have an interview at Microsoft in Redmond on Friday. Position is Senior Software Engineer. What should I expect? Any good tips? Thoughts on attire? The recruiter is supposed to call me on Thursday to go over the schedule but that doesn’t give me a whole lot of time to prepare.
Good problem solving skills, good communication and ability to write understandable code. Solid foundation of cs concepts. Also, I wore shorts and sandals to my interview; so attire doesn’t matter
Sandals is a bit disrespectful dont you think lol. I know attire doesnt matter but come on dude.
No, I wore sandals also. As interviewers, we really don't care, or notice. If you take off stinky socks, put your bare feet up on a desk or wall, pick at your toe jam, well....
I may be in the same position soon...could you please update this thread after you are done with your interview ?
Will do
Prepare dynamic programming questions, wildcard, count number of steps, longest palindromic string from leetcode.1 round of oops and System design. My friend interviewed for same position last month.
Cool thanks
Is expected compensation something they ask about during the interview? I never know what to answer and I fear lowballing myself.
He said they dint talk TC. But recruiter had asked in initial phone screen. Check levels.fyi
Wear a Google shirt.
Sure, okay
Interview felt like it went well. I don’t feel like I screwed up at all. They said I should hear something early next week.
Nice update!
Lol @lyub4y2
Better update: it was very similar to interviews I’ve had at other big tech companies. Normal interview questions (why Microsoft?) and Leetcode type coding questions. None of them stumped me so I feel pretty positive.
I know it hasn’t even been a whole business day but I’ve heard nothing and the wait is killing me. KILLING ME!!!
What happened?
Still waiting

Attire, just be your self. Be prepped for why Microsoft :)
