My friend is warning not to go to Google because everything hard has already been done for you. You will come to rely so much on the Google infra that you become ill-suited to roles at earlier stage companies. How accurate is this? He is warning that Google people took demotions to work at his startup etc.
At ‘his’ startup. Probably just boasting.
First, you need to get an offer. Then we can talk.
The “easy or not” things are from the perspective of these really smart guys in google. Not for the normal people as you and I to judge.
Because every developer just dreams of dealing with build and deployment problems rather than solving new frontiers.
Or even worse - migrating legacy systems.
you migrate legacy systems at google too. everything is either being deprecated or in beta
I am surprised someone would take demotion by leaving Google to work at startup unless he/she really believes in the company
Great infra allows you to dedicate your time to other things. Improving developer productivity is a good thing...
Yeah it's so much better to work at a start up and use Ruby on Rails
This.
Lemme guess. Your friend didn’t get an offer?
Here we go with the "didn't get an offer dick" again
“startups are harder than google” is that what you want to hear?
Heard the same thing also
Grammar is hard.
What a stupid response.
