Is it worth to transfer to AWS from retail?

Asking for Amazonian and ex-Amazonian. I’m working on a retail team. Team culture is good, I work less than 40hrs, and teammates are good. But not very technical challenge. We basically develop for business requirements. Sometimes we developed interesting services that many other teams consume. I don’t know if it’s worth to transfer to AWS in terms of career growth. WLB seems horrible in AWS. I am a contributor to a few open source projects, and I hope I will still have time to maintain them. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

Don’t bother. Appreciate WLB.

You will not have time to contribute to open source.

Why Indian Height is so important for them that they put it on their username here instead of their TC?

Depends on the org in AWS, older services tend to be less stressful, but you should avoid new services at any cost if you want to have wlb. They will suck your soul

I’m at AWS and my WLB is terrible. I would be thrilled to work 40

Go to AWS, new service team if you seek for promotion. Plantly opportunity to prove yourself. WLB is meh. I was in a new service team, we built that service from nothing in 6 months. And the following year to improve it. About 24 months I was I that team. Saw lots of L5 to L6 promotion and a L7 promotion was going on when I left Amazon. I didn't work weekend and maybe 45 hrs a week. Not chill but not terrible.
