Is level 5 data engineer safe at Facebook?
Interviewing for data engineer role. How is work life balance? Does PIP apply to L5 DE as well? YOE 6 TC 180
If I understand the question itโs not whether PIP can occur, which presumably can happen at any level, but rather is it past the threshold for โup or outโ? My understanding is that it is.
WLB is poor for most DE's in general. With lvl 5 you will have to be much more involved and the focus is on both breadth and depth. It won't be easy if you haven't been performing at similar level. PIP is common if you underperform regardless of your level or tenure. Also I'm on the interview panel. If u get matched with me It's pretty easy to figure who u r ๐
Don't DE have separate interviewer's? You work as DE?
Poor wlb and I heard they get fewer rsuโs compared to swe. Why would anyone want to be a DE there.
If you work smart WLB is never a problem.
Asking about PIP before you even finish the interview. Not a great sign.
