Nice read article. Amazonians around here, how remotely close is this? Got any fun stories? https://www.inc.com/bill-murphy-jr/you-dont-just-get-fired-at-amazon-what-happens-instead-is-brilliant-or-maybe-insane-your-choice.html
Sure would be nice if they bothered to write about “Jane”’s experience afterwards instead of leaving us hanging in suspense smh
Not bad.
This is a terrible article that doesn't actually provide any kind of background or inclusion of what happened after she was put on a Pivot. What is this trying to highlight?
it just describes the process in general. they use Jane impersonally. There may be no Jane to begin with.
I have heard no but it was on here so may not be true.
it’s a very good representation of the process.
Has anyone ever taken the severance packagr they offered?
Option 4: Keep your principles and values intact and resign. Know that you are competent enough to get a job at other companies especially after staying at Amazon for a few years. Know that you are strong. Don’t let anyone step on you or tell you that you are shit, especially a manager whom you just met three months ago and have no idea of what challenges you were able to overcome and results that you’ve delivered in the past. Know that you are valued somewhere else and your soul is worth more than the RSUs they are dangling in front of you. Hold your held up high and move on.
Why’d you resign without taking the severance? That would actually be a win for the company
I will never go through the pain of letting few managers step on me. Severance will require documentation and useless back and forth with your manager and hr. I’d like to be productive, code and ship products. Thanks but no thanks to extreme, horrible, dirty politics that I’ve witnessed in my last team.
Accurate. Amazon lounge full of experiences like this for past year+
Wow, can’t wait to see it!
