What's better for TC growth and career? Namaste
It depends on what you are going to be working on tbh. If you are looking at fintech or any transactional system, then you wanna do java. Mature companies almost always end up moving to java and away from a dynamic language. As an example, Braintree And Airbnb both had major rewrites to JAva so they can deal with performance issues. Node is great, and still being used widely but java is nice at scale for transactional systems. Source: I’ve used both
Maybe read the last time someone posted this same fucking question.
Learn both. One after another. Whichever one you started, get good at that first. Depth first and then breadth. It will probably take longer to get proficient in Java. There are more jobs and projects in Java. Java is more verbose, yet more popular. Startups favor js more and enterprises lean towards Java. But I know enterprises doing node js projects and startups doing Java projects.
Fuck JavaScript. Unstable crap
Java isn't JS.
