Leaving Amazon while being on dev list

Hi all - I'm wondering if anyone has left Amazon while being on dev list. Specific questions are: A. Did you choose to take severance? What are the downsides of doing that? Did you have to sign a paper saying Amazon can disclose your details to anyone in the future? B. Have you been hired again? I have heard that if you apply, the hiring manager will see that you left because of performance issues but can veto to get you in.

Is this the same person who disclosed coworker information?

Didn't get you

I did. No severance. The severance package only available if you leave at the pivot or PIP. I was told if someone left while in dev list he will be ban from Amazon indefinitely.

Why didn't you take the severance? There is an option to speed up pivot and get severance in 1 or 2 days. After you left, any regrets?

I left right after I was told being put on dev list. I was already interviewing and had offers in hand. There was no way to speed up the pivot that fast. No regrets. I hated my manager and how Amazon rewards their hard working employees. I would never go back

Culture and resources vary per team. The manager could be a douchebag. Plenty of evidence suggests that people leave managers and not company. I am trying to think if it's okay to block a person for life for a manager's limited capability at one point in time?(managers are also learning right?). The resource could also be lacking performance for many reasons, (s)he could improve over time. -copied from a different post

What's a dev list? Something like PIP?

T-Mobile fun oh Jun 5, 2019

It comes before PIP I think.

Before PIP Dev list -> Pivot -> PIP At the pivot one can choose to take a higher severance and leave. Or stay to try PIP.
