Started studying leetcode too late. Has already graduated from a Physics PhD program and have been unenployed. Is it better to leetcode more and aim for a top tier company? Or just aim for lower tier companies, get in first for TC and exp, then continue leetcoding there? On OPT with part time low pay WFH dev job.
Get / take a lower tier and keep grinding leet in spare time. Experience is also needed
Depends how much time and money you have.
Have funds for 3-4 more months. Currently on OPT but have part time dev job
Go low tier and find a job ASAP. If you had a year of savings I'd say you could afford to spend some time grinding more LC first.
lower tier first, gain experience
Depend on how fast you learn LC. But if you cant make it to top tier now, go for lower not low tier.
If you have the time and dedication, go for high tier now. Can always fall back to low tier. But this extended free time is much harder to come by later. I have an uncountable number of friends stuck in low tier companies missing out on hundreds of thousands a year. But they say they are comfortable. 🤷♂️
Can u get interviews at top tier yet? If not go with experience first
Depends. If low tier has solid wlb and can get you good exposure to industry level project, then way to go. But it may be difficult to find one matching this condition.
