Working on interesting and new things at Amazon & Amazon was the first company I joined after college. Got promoted in a year and current TC is around $220k . Blind just makes me insecure. Although I’m satisfied with my work (working on open source projects at Amazon) and have a great manager, should I go ahead and actively look for other opportunities as well?
Just to get some more money and see what else is out there? Since amazon is the first company I’m working for full-time
Your TC is really really good for your experience. Trust me. Stay there longer. :) I echo that it's hard to find good team. Enjoy! Ignore Blind. Maybe delete it.
Do you mind sharing your initial offer break down and location? As well as the breakdown of your current TC after promotion?
Would recommend stay, if you like what you are doing. Will be difficult for you if you get stuck with a bad manager.
Stay. You have a lot of plusses; many do not have a good manager there and wind-up losing out on their stock because they before it vests. Stay the four years to let it vest, build job experience and gain leadership experience, and, and only then, start looking. Now, that doesn’t mean you can’t interview once, a couple, or a few times a year to keep a fresh perspective. 😉
How can ur TC be 220? I joined 1.5 year ago to but left recently and even if i get promoted, no way TC is 220
When I joined: Base: 107k, got around $75k worth of stocks and joining bonus of $50k. Currently have base of $138k and 3rd year vesting stocks about $80k at current amazon stock price
Good salary + interesting work + great manager. The ‘great manager’ piece is probably most important. Why on earth would you leave when it sounds like your world is good? There are pockets of suck in every company - enjoy the fact you aren’t there! :)
