Do you get maternity leave only if you have worked at the company for a year ? Tia
Depends on a company
You will be eligible for disability leave no matter how long you’ve worked. Federal job protected leave requires pretty much a year of employment and the company has to be 50 people or larger. Additional company-sponsored maternity leave depends on the particular company’s policy.
Do you know what is Apple’s maternity leave policy for employee who has worked for less than a year at Apple?
Looks like an employee will be eligible for the 12 weeks at least no matter whether she is eligible for FMLA or not. There is also CFRA that provides job protection by another 12 weeks and Apple honors it as well. I would recommend to talk to HR/benefits person though as this is based on my interpretation of the rules written on hrweb.
At Microsoft you get parental leave within one year of the birth of your child, even if the child is born before you start at Microsoft (eg kid born in January, join Microsoft in April, can still take 12 weeks of parental leave as long as you do it before the kids first birthday).
That’s cool
What does google offer?
Box maternity leave is 20 weeks, paternity leave is 12. I don't think there is a req to work for a min time before taking leave.
Apple & Amazon doesn‘t appear to be child friendly. These noobs should consider that it is their staff that guarantees profit quarters, and their childs are the next workforce lol. Would never join the Amazon bloodhound gang
I think PayPal has only 12 weeks maternity , but not sure, need to check before planning to conceive
