What's the maximum compensation (base, initial equity, yearly bonus, equity refresh) for E4 and E5 at Facebook? I was contacted by a recruiter for a straight to onsite. She mentioned the level will most likely be E4 or E5 (3 years of experience of which 2 in the US)
2 years of US experience will land you at E3
It’s weird for you and your recruiter to be discussing levels this early or at all.
800k if I have learned anything on blind
You will not be offered E5, period. Like others said, most likely E4 but also possibly E3. For E4, with your experience, hope for ~145k base, 10% annual bonus, 25-50k sign-on bonus, 200-250k in RSUs split evenly over 4 years with a 1 year cliff. This is the median. "Max" would likely be 175k base, 10% bonus, 50-100k sign-on, 350k in RSUs. You will almost certainly not get this unless you do mind-blowingly well in the interviews; it's mostly reserved for down-levelled candidates.
Appreciate you sharing these ranges. Does facebook do stock refreshes across the board or only in rare cases (I've heard of "DE")?
DEs (Discretionary Equity) generally come into play after (or around) 4 years and are quite rare. Don't count on getting one. You do get annual refreshers. For E4 I think it's around 70k for 2 "meets all" ratings. E5 120k. These are non-negotiable and formulaic. They vest over 4 years with no cliff.
You’re getting bullshitted by the recruiter. You’ll be slotted as E4.
More like low E4 or E3
fwiw I joined as e5 with only 3.5 years experience.
Seen this posted on Blind before: E3: $107k-$125k salary, $40k stocks a year, 10% bonus E4: $140k-160k salary, $70k stocks a year, 10% bonus E5: $170k-$195k salary, $120k stocks a year, 15% bonus E6: $200k-$220k salary, $200k stocks a year, 20% bonus All numbers assuming expected performance, if you kill expectations you get more (25% - 200% more shares)
Definitely not E5. He is just giving false hopes to entice you to give interview. You will be E4. Would not be surprised if they give E3 as well but most likely E4
Likely. Do you know E4 offer ranges?
Yeah definitely E4, maybe E3 if you do not perform well in interview but then most likely no offer at all. I don't know the range
