This is only true for partner track - if you go to mdl or any other non-partner track, you are second class.

Yep, but 1 in a 100 becomes partner. 1 in 10 partners becomes sr partner. The payout is too little for the effort. If you want to make money go to finance and get into the buy side. Case in point ex-mck global md who saw his PE pals raking in billions and started passing insider info to his hedge fund pal for $$
