If you’re younger, also, check out the Facebook group “young Microsoft FTEs” - they do happy hours every Thursday.
Lastly, find hobbies, sports, etc that interest you. You’ll be able to meet lots of people easily that way, that share your interests.

Meet somebody you think is cool, try to connect outside of work/context, get blown off or ghosted. Cordial but non committal. That's the freeze. It also sucks trying to leave your greater hood. Like living near Northgate and having friends in West Seattle, that spells doom
If you are asian, there is an asian meetup group who likes boardgames. If you like RPG, there is also D&D on Wednesdays at Mox and other game stores. If you play music instruments, there are orchestras to join.
